Default How do I loose these nuts?

I'm trying to get loose the rusted rear leaf spring bolts. The ones that hold the spring at the wheel. the spring is lifted on a jack. The nut is rusted on the bolt! Any ideas?
(It's a 74 vette)

Heat--I push the rubber up and put a pair of vicegrips just above big washer-heat the nut and it usually spins right off---If you put a wrench at the top there is too much twist with that long bolt

You should replace them anyway. Get new ones and cut the old off.

You can try spraying PB Blaster on the nuts for a week or so to see if they will loosen. If the PB doesn't work you will probably either have to torch the nuts off or saw them off. I always hesitate to use flames in case there is a fuel leak that I haven't discovered. If there is a fuel leak you will probably find it pretty quickly with a torch.

If they are that rusted cut them off and replace them. Normally you can hold them with a pair of pliers wrapped with a rag and turn off the nut.
