Default What would you do?

I had the starter rebuilt 3 or 4 years ago. I pretty sure it has crapped out again. I planded on putting a new motor in it in 5 or 6 months. Something like a zz4 or deluxe 350 crate engine. Most of these engines come with a new starter...or option.
Do I blow the $100 dollars on getting this one rebuilt, again or wait for the new motor?

$100??
I had the starter from my '65 rebuilt a few months ago and it was only about $48.

your other option is to buy a brand new starter, install in for now so you can drive the car than when you order the new crate motor order it without a starter and install the new one you are temporarly using on the current motor.

of course your 3rd option is to wait and do nothing until you get the new motor and not have your vette to drive .......

$100.00??
That is too steep. Go get a rebuilt starter at your local parts store or even better, get a high torque mini starter and transplant it to your new motor when it comes.

ZZ4 doesn't come with a starter and would probably be way more than $100 from those guys. I'd say get your starter rebuilt or do it yourself and save the money. I used the starter off my L48 on the ZZ4, no problems at all with enough guts, works fine.

Now that's a great idea... who doesn't want one of these, especially with a NOM...
