Default Brake booster pushrod questions??

Got my new (to me) booster today and it was missing the rod between the booster and master cylinder. Are these available? How do they attach to the booster? Could I just use threaded rod?

Yes, you could, but you should be able to pick one up for practically nothing. Doesn't have to be a threaded rod. That is just for the length adjustment.

I wouldn't use a threaded rod as threaded rod is pretty soft and I'd worry about it bending in a panic situation.

Use the real thing!

Come on, I'm not an idiot. If I had an old booster... This is for a custom conversion from manual C3 brakes to Power C5 brakes with a C5 master cylinder and C3 booster.

The C5 master cylinder has a shallow hole in it for the pushrod same as the later C3's. So Yes I have a 1970 and Yes I need a pushrod for a later C3.

Apparently you are an idiot as you didn't give all the information. Got a few ideas what you can put that pushrod once you get it.

No problem. My bad. Should've known that you were converting a manual to a power brake system.

Wasn't very smart of me to think that you might just be swapping out a bad power booster for a good one therefore you would have the old pushrod still handy. Guess my ESP is on the fritz again.

Yes, I happen to have one from my old C3 stock booster, cut off length to take the shallow hole later C3 type m/cyl.....it's a cut off longer '72 stock shaft....the thing looks sort of like a valve, so a piece of rod will not work, the valve end goes into the booster..

Default Help No Booster/Master Cylinder rod only a black cylinder

I have been having issues with my 1975 Vette brakes for awhile now. It stops but never locks up. I replaced the master cylinder and still soft. I read the Booster Rod may need adjustment but when I took the Master Cylinder off again, there is no booster rod. It looks like a cylinder come out of the booster and engages the master cylinder. There is a hole in the cylinder where it looks like a booster rods should go. Any thought as to if there was a time where a rod was not used. I pilled it out a little and attached a photo of what it looks like.

The cylinder in the middle is what come out when i push on the brake pedal. there is no Booster Rod

I'm not sure if this is the exact part you need, but my 1979 Corvette parts counter book lists it as # 5469384 rod.
One just closed on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/5469384-Vintage-Gm-Part-Rod-Assm
