69 coupe came back from the body shop with lots of things not working. One thing that once worked and now does not is the "Headlamps" indicator in the dash. If memory serves me correct, light should come on with a pull of the headlight switch and go off in a second or two. I get nothing now when I pull the headlight switch. I do see one wire hanging down by each headlight with a female end on it. Are these the wires to complete the circuit? Don't see a place for them to connect. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Okay, this is a picture with the headlights DOWN. The wires hanging down should plug into the switch on the headlight mechanism.
This is a picture of the headlights RAISED UP. You can see the plunger is now pushed in by the headlight mechanism. These switches are normally closed, therefore when the headlight switch is pulled, the warning light on your dash comes on until both lights are fully raised, opening the headlight warning switch and turning the light on the dash off.
It takes both switches to turn the warning light on the dash off. If one switch is made up, the warning light will still be on.

Eddie 70, Thats a fantastic pic of the set-up. I now know what the problem is...no headlight switches!!! Damn body shop. This is just another thing gone wrong with this project. Thanks so much for the info. I'll find some switches somewhere and fix the problem thanks to you, I really did not know what to look for. Thanks for the speedy reply.
I've spent so much already, I can't stop now. I'm sure you know how I feel. I'll have to order thru CC or Eklers I guess.
Why not go back to the body shop and say "GIMME MY GD HEADLITE SWITCHES, YOU BUM!!!"
If it were me, they'd hand 'em over or pay for new ones, either/or.....

If the system was working correctly before the body shop and is not working now............
OH...PLEASE DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE BODY SHOP. Our 69 went into the shop with everything in working order. It took one year to do a five week project. The body shop was going to soda blast the front of the car (doors forward) but the word didn't make it to the media blaster. He used walnut shell on the whole car, the car was not recognizable when he was done. He'd removed 35 years worth of paint and bondo and the news was not good. It took one year and lots of blame to get our car back. It's still not perfect, but to the novis, it looks good. I'm still fixing things, two years later. In order to get our car back, we signed "a no warranty on this body work" agreement. By the time we were done the shop told us that they neither had a qualified body man to do work or the inclination to do it. We took the car as was, and work on it as we can. Now, don't get me wrong, the car looks ok, gets tons of looks, but we bash one of Salem's finest body shops. It may take 30 years or so but I hope to bad mouth them enough to cost them LOTS of business.
A heads up on those switches-- it's easy to break off the plastic threaded part. Both of my switches were busted so I ordered two new ones. I tried to tighten the first switch too much and broke it right off. It's just plastic-- so not too much torque!
