Well, one bolt on the rear crossmember came off w/o trouble. But the other one is a different story. I started to heat it but that just burns the rubber surrounding it. So, I'm a little stuck there.
Then I understand from searches here that a claw puller is the best way to get that thing down. All I have is a 3-prong harmonic balance type puller. Should I rent a claw puller or try an ax handle or crow bar or something? (I know to leave the nuts on just enough so that the thing doesn't come crashing down.)
Lastly, what's the best way to cut through a brand-new 2.5" exhaust pipe w/o a torch? They welded where there used to be clamps to remove the rear exahust. I started with a hack saw but barely made a dent. I'm going to Home Depot today to look for something. Maybe a Sawzaw?
I used a sawsall on the pipes with a metal cutting blade. It went right thru it and you can get a local exhaust company to make extensions to reconnect if you are going to reuse them. For the stubborn bolt, use a breaker bar with a pipe extension to pop the bolt loose. Or tap on the breaker bar with a 5 lb. sledge to free it up. The impact of the sledge will usually pop it free.

Yeah, you gotta love the old Pipe extention. I used my old one so much I wore it out - have to get a new one of those too today. What's a breaker bar - a socket wrench with a really long handle?
I have a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar about one foot long. It doesn't ratchet, just has a flex coupling for the socket. Slide a pipe over the end and is really strong since there are no ratchet gears to break. Ask for it by name at any tool supply.
