Default Need 4 speed shifter info

Im looking to replace my worn out 4 speed shifter ON MY 68, m-22 4 SPEED.. What aftermarket shifter is a direct, bolt on, no mods to console?

Hurst makes the Competition Plus that is a direct fit for these cars. There are literally thousands of them installed... two of my cars were purchased with them already installed. It wasn't until I drove a friends all original 1977, that I fully realized how bad the original shifter was.

My 1985 came with a factory shifter that if not made by Hurst, certainly duplicates the positive, spring-loaded gates of the Hurst.

I believe that a lot of folks have mentioned Summit as a source for the shifter. A few of the bigger vendors offer it, but they really tack on the Corvette tax, so shop around. It is important to get the correct installation kit for the Corvette, as that's where the major difference exists.

Many of the vendors also carry the direct replacement shifter handle that bolts in place of the Hurst handle and looks perfectly stock.
