70 dash pad reinforcement needed?

70 dash pad reinforcement needed?
I am trying to get this car back together and seen in my 70 assembly manual that is shows what they call a dash reinforcemant plate.Part #3974011.. Looks like it has one screw that mounts to about the center on the bottom side of the dash pad.Then another bolt mounts the bracker to the firewall.
Anyone know how I can find this part?I was wondering what the heck kept the dash pad tight to the windshield post and had seen this in the manual.

I just took my dash out yesterday to install some new speakers. That is just a sheet metal piece. I am not aware of anyone who carries it, but it would be very easy to bend some sheet metal and drill a couple of holes. The piece is kind of sheet metal oragami.

You can try Paragon or any of the other Vette parts suppliers that carry used parts.
Try these guys too. They have a ton of used and NOS parts. Just fill out their Find-A-Part form.

Surprisingly, I have seen this part (dash pad reinforcement bracket) missing on some Corvettes. Perhaps it just wasn't replaced when a pad or new speakers were installed. I have replaced the dash pad without it, and when the center console and left and right pads are installed, it is such a tight fit that the bracket is not needed....(I've tried to wriggle the pad loose or pull it forward and could not !) So, if you can't find a replacement bracket, all is not lost.

I did a search as said to do.Found it for 4 bucks as said above,plus shipping!!!
Got a nice pair of speaker mounts for the dash pad from the same seller while I was looking.
Now I need to find some GOOD dash speakers..Any ideas??How little are them things?
You guys are great..Well 99.9/10 of you all,ha ha...few post back I seemed to have made a fellow member upset..Oh well,can't all be good.
On my mopar sight I think the great people(good idea) are only about 9% total.So you all are kicking!!
