Shifter fork issue??
I am dropping my '69 BB M-21 for work at a Corvette facility on Saturday and would like some input. When I try to shift from first to second, the shifter allows significant play down from first, and second becomes very difficult to find. Once to fourth, there is a good deal of play with the Hurst shifter.
I have all of 50 miles on the car since purchased, so I cannot speak to past use.
I am using Conte's in Vineland NJ and believe they are trustworthy and skilled. Any comments on my problem and the facility are most welcome.

Sounds like some mounting bolts are loosing up -or the linkage-just try tightening things up first.
Does not sound like the trans jus t linkage or shifter mounts. Contes is good. I'll be right by there on Thursday. I'm working in Vineland that day.
