Default Hood Question.... Will it fit?

Will a 1977 hood fit on a 1972? Do the hinge and latches line up?

I know i will have to remove the wiper door assembly to have it fit, I am mostly concerned about hinge points and latch points.

Thanks
jim

The 77-82 hoods have a completely different latching system than the earlier C3s. All that is mounted on the hood is the catch, unlike earlier that have the latch and cables on the hood.
Also, from what I've heard, the full length hoods swapped onto earlier wiper door Vettes require some building up of the fenders near the windshield to match the contour of the hood.

Why not look for a 72 hood? You would save yourself lots of headaches...

Hinge points are the same. Latch points are not. Eckler's makes a 73-82 style hood which will fit the 68-72s. Requires removal of the wiper door and hardware and the cowl vent. You will also lose the chrome trim on the trailing edge of the wiper door which matches the two fender pieces.

I sold my regular 72 hood...It didn't have the look i wanted. I need the twin turbo look..

I purchased a 77 TT hood and will replace the latches or go with hood pins.
