Awhile back,I replaced my ignition switch and adjusted rod cause it was shorting and would not go into ACC position in the 69....I rarely use ACC,but this morning I did to mess with the new satellite radio, and my electric fuel pump comes on...!! (It also comes on when I start engine)....
Any thoughts ? My electrical experience is nil...

You are hooked up to an incorrect power source with your electric fuel pump. How much power does it draw? Maybe hook the feed into the Positive side of the coil. or wiper motor power feed. Something that is only powered when the ignition switch is in the run position.
Yeah..I changed the fuel pump awhile back, but did not change wiring..so this gremlin was there before I bought it..never used acc,and did not catch this before...
Won't do it today...Severe weather alert today...
"IT WILL BE EXTREMELY HOT TODAY WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES EXCEEDING
100 DEGREES IN MANY INLAND VALLEY LOCATIONS...AND AS HIGH AS 110
IN THE FOOTHILLS. SOME ALL TIME RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE
POSSIBLE. THE ALL TIME RECORD HIGH IN ALPINE WAS 112 SET IN
1960...AND AT 950 AM THEIR TEMPERATURE WAS 109."

Took my raytek and driveway surface was 143 F...you can do a burn out sitting still...

Going back to your orignal thread title you only made one of the
more common mistakes bought and old car to constantly
work on and spend money on
I have been thinking of using an electric holley pump. 110 gph
would be plenty for me, but I wonder if the HP 125 with the
gerotor gear set is worth having they talk it up a bunch in there
ADV. HP 125 has a preset fuel pressure think I would rather have
an external regulator.

You do have a problem then. If your car actually runs then your fuel pump is working when you have the ignition switch in start and run as well as ACC. It sounds like the ignition switch is wired wrong, or you have some other gremlins in the wiring.
The fuel pump should be wired to the IGN-1 terminal of the ignition switch so that it is getting power in both start and run positions. That circuit can be found at the 12 gage pink wire connected to the distributor. Your fuel pump only draws 3 amps so it should be OK on that same circuit with the 2amp stock coil. You can also find that circuit at the fuse box at the gauges terminal.

Been lucky..only two issues in past year...not expensive...
I don't know about the 125....but it would save on hoses (no external reg..) The original holley lasted 7 years..then started weeping..so I stuck with same model...I use two filters..one between fuel tank/pump..and another just before carb...

Thanks..I'll be getting into this next week, after weather cools a bit...I've bookmarked comments..
Are you using a regulator? Due to engine swap, I'm unable to use a mechanical fuel pump and bought the same holley blue as what you have with a regulator. Is the regulator needed?

Yes...good idea to have one...it came with the pump...and have a emergency shut off switch too...
