F@#$%^g metering blocks
How the hell do these things come off? Stupid gaskets are really freaking stuck!! Holley must make some good ones. I have bent like 3 screw drivers trying to get them off!!
I complained to holley years ago about the gaskets that they use. When I get a new carb I imediately tear it down looking for problems and I run into the same tough gaskets as you. I spend alot of time scraping them off. I install new ones with a light coating of grease so they come off really easy the next time.
I had a 69 chevelle SS396 wih a Holy 650 spreadbore on it. It had a couple of leaks that would on occasion **** me off. So, doing what any young idiot in the days of very cool new hi tech chemical compounds available on an airforce base would do...I used white Silicone RTV to stick them gaskets on....
Took a Month of taking the carb apart on the side of the road to get all that stuff outta my carb...
The newer Holley gaskets are (supposedly) non-stick. I got into the habit of using Chap-Stick on the gaskets when assembling them and have never had one stick.
