Default Turn Signal Indicator Issue

Guys, quick question. Turn signals work fine, however, when left turn signal is going the the green directional indicator in the dash does not blink - right one works fine. As I said, both signals work outside the car - just the left dash indicator does not light up.

Any thoughts on the fix here? I imagine I have to rip the dash apart? Maybe not?

Either the bulb or the turn signal switch in the column. I would make sure the bulb is good first.

I have seen this exact problem many times in the past. You need to ensure the following: 1. the dash bulb is good. 2. the front or rear bulbs are good. I like to swap the bulbs with known good bulbs and place the suspected bad bulb in the known good bulb position. The last item would be the flasher. Good luck!

My guess would be a burned-out light in the dash, if the external lights are working right.

So to fix this I need to pull the Speedo/Tach cluster out of the dash? All of the external lights work fine - it's not bulbs outside the car and the flasher is obviously working - it must be the bulb in the dash...anyone know what part number the indicator bulb might be?

I would think it is just a lamp and I don't think that it would be that hard to change. If it is the turns signal switch and you need one. I have one new in the box.

You just reach up under there and unplug the socket, replace the bulb and plug it back in. No need to remove the dash. Although, if it is a 79, its not hard to slide the dash out and replace the bulb.
