Ok I just got my heatercore back in and new blower, and fan put in. Now I cant start the car due to no Hoses i have to install them thi weekend, but when i turned my key foward, and checked to see if my fan worked i was amazed.
My fan blew nice air flow through my bottom vents,But didnt blow good through the defroster or top vents(due to no vaccum i guess) Now the problem is the fan stays on even when i turn the switch over to Off, It stays on very slow, all you hear is a low hum and the slightest air is beign blown, why is this???? I dont want to instal my carpet until i fix it or know whats wrong.
Someone else posted the same problem this week, The fan is supposed to be on the switched side of the ign switch. Thats what the book says anyway. I am looking into it a bit more, I wonder if the ignition switch is turning all the way off? There is a rod in the column to adjust it
yea, it is on the switched side, check out the ignition switch
So does it run with the key off and removed?

If you mean the fan runs with the key switched off, something else in the the blower motor circuit is not connected right. The same schematic may help.
I might be wrong but just the other day I was working on my 76's radio and I noticed my fan was running very slowly when the key was ON even with the fan switch on OFF. This was because the AC/Heat/Vent/Defrost setting wheel was on VENT. When I rolled it up to OFF the fan quit running completely. So I would say the fan does not run at all when everything is turned off.
