Default Replacing front bearings

I replaced the front races, bearings, and seals. I replaced the hub assembly onto the spindle. I then put the new rotor on and attached the brake caliper. The hub assembly does not seem to go far enough onto the spindle and the outer edge of the caliper is hitting on the rotor.

I followed the manual and only torqued the hub nut to 12ftlbs and everything seems to be seated well with no play. Is there some other process that should be done to ensure the hub is properly located onto the spindle?

Thanks,

My strong suspicion is that you did not fully seat the bearing races. I'd suggest removing the rotors and re-attempting to seat the races. To do this properly, if you don't have access to an hydraulic press, you really need to have a bearing race driver of the proper size. Inexpensive, albeit rather short-lived, examples of the tools can be obtained from discount tool stores. Since you probably won't be using these tools as often as a professional, the "short-lived" feature won't harm you, at all---the tools will last you a lifetime.

Place the rotors on a HARD surface and, using the bearing race driver, pound away using a good size hammer. When the races are fully driven "home", you'll usually experience a "solid" feel upon further pounding.
