Default Turbo Project

i have a sb 400, and want to make massive amounts of power. I was thinking a twin turbo setup, what are some of your expeirences with them, also do yall have any links that i could go to to get some more information because i know you all have had this question asked a million times. Thanks and sorry for the headache.

P.S. i plan on getting that desktop dyno program for PC, will that allow me to have different setups as in terms of forced induction or is that just all motor?

It's too thin. Generally speaking, for high-performance applications- ESPECIALLY like what you're considering- a .030" overbore would be the maximum...

A 400 c.i. engine, with twin turbos like you're considering, could conceivably make over 1000 HP. But I caution you, to carefully consider what you're proposing... Because such amounts of power will NEVER be able to be put to the street, without massive reinforcement of the frame, rear end, transmission, and a variety of other areas.

You'd need a FULL roll-cage, probably with halo bars tied to the front of the frame.
You can forget any sort of IRS set-up for this; only a fully-built Ford 9" or a Dana 60 will survive such abuse.
You'll have to run a fully-built trans, like a TH-400, or a power-glide. A Lenco stick will also live, but it will cost you plenty.

In short, the set-up of the car will cost as much- and probably more- than the engine... Easily $10,000, just to set up the car. $6-8000 for the engine, IF you can do a lot of work yourself, and you're careful with what you buy...

Are you really ready for this???

This sounds like a question Yellow73SB would ask.

You need a new block if you want to chase the 1000hp mark. As well as forged everything. and stock blocks wont last long at that point anyway so we are talking a new dart or world products block.
