Heat shield question

Stupit question, but I have a '69 Vette - can I install the heat shield that fits up over the tranny from a later C3, without pulling the tranny?

If you mean that silvery foamy thing, I would think so. The worst you might have to do is cut it in half, but duct tape should hold it back together.

Has anyone installed the Transmission Tunnel Insulation heat shield above the transmission, that attaches to the body, with the engine and transmission installed without cutting it?? (but with shift lever removed)

There is very little room between the transmission and the body...with this tunnel insulation flex or is it rigid?

Mine is missing and I wiould like to install one.

It will flex..but getting it attached to clips will be a pita....

The tunnel insulation will flex a little but not much, it is fairly rigid. It comes pretty far down the tunnel height wise. I would say that to do the job properly and not turn the insulation into a crumpled mess, you should remove the tranny. I probably wouldn't do it though until I had another good reason to remove the tranny such as a tranny rebuild or clutch replacement.
