Default Crower Rod Group Buy

I don't know if many of you visit us lowly C2 types but in case you are interested in Crower Rods, here is an FYI from the C2 Board:

Once again it has been brought to my attention that some folks are still interested in placing an order for Crower Sportsman Rods that missed out last time. There was an attempt several months back on the NCRS board but it was abandoned when someone thought they were cheaper via Summit. I can say for certain that Summit's current advertised price is $572 plus $9 shipping, that is a bit more than what a group purchase would run. Depending upon your shipping location, plan on around $485 with shipping, no sales tax. The rod price from the last order was $450/set, so unless there is a price increase between now and the time the order is placed, this is the base price.

I organized the Crower group buy at the beginning of the year, and Duke, Mark, and I can tell you that there are some very happy folks out there. Just check out Mark's LT-1 thread, 7,200+RPMs!! Granted a Crower rod isn’t for everyone, but if you plan on building a SHP engine and want it to stay together at 7,000 RPMs, you want to consider a set even at double the price of a set of cheap Chinese rods. If you want a set of Crowers, here are the ground rules which are exactly as the last very succesful order:

I need to order a minimum of 15 sets of rods.

The order is not limited to small journal 327 rods, however the price may vary from the 327 rod which this is mainly aimed at. Just as an example, a set of LJ stroker rods ran about $75 more last time.

The part number for the 327 small journal rod will be SP93200PF-8, it is a cap screw, 4340 forged rod, press fit rod.

The price is at my cost, it is a Co-op type purchase, it is Non Negotiable, no matter how many sets are ordered above the 15 minimum.

It takes about 5 weeks once the order is placed since Crower does NOT stock these rods, bushed rods yes, pressed rods no.

I need to place the order with my credit card so I require full payment up front, check or money order preferred.

Serious emails and PMs only.

Best Regards,
Scott Marzahl
