Some months ago I mentioned doing a late Camaro headlight conversion, and WAS going to do it with the operating system...scrap that, not worth the time/effort/weight.....
I have had an Ecklers sugar scoop tray with large square bulbs in there for years now, since a deer wiped out the stock setup....
so I finally got around to doing the changeout....I used framing from vinyl plastic PVC 1x2x8' from HD, gluded up and reinforded with BVC cement, and automotive GOOP, another fine product, it's all held with stainless screws also....I mirror imaged the holes once they were in position needed....
the site shows the final look.....paint not wonderful....but it's many years old, except the headlight surrounding paint, which is fairly decent for amateur work....
Looks good! I like the look a LOT better than the old school sugar scoops.
I've toyed with the idea of using the small square headlights from later model cars in my pop-up housings. The pop up would then only have to open wide enough to expose the small lights.
