YAY! My fan is on the way:

"...John, I have not been avoiding your order-I did receive your M/O about two weeks ago but.... we have been in deliberations with DC Controls regarding services and while we have no issues with the actual product they offer, we do with their services. For this reason, we have decided to replace our DC Control lineup with Spal's new PWM controllers instead. Since we will not be carrying the DC Controls line any more, we cannot offer a warranty or replacment. For this reason, we will either offer you a refund on the controller or replace it with a Spal unit as we should have an account in place by late next week. I apologize for this inconvenience but we feel Spal will better serve our customers both in our store and online. Please let me know asap what you'd like for me to do with regards to your order and it'll be done, I can ship your controller along with your fan and harness when we place our first allotment order if you want to wait, that is up to you-or I can refund the controller price and get your fan and harness out today. Spal is local (Ankeny, Iowa) so that will greatly speed things up-another plus for us anyway! If you have questions, you can reach me at..."

PhotoVette,
That is good news! You don't have to wait for them to get you the Spal controller, you can get it yourself. Is the Spall a variable speed or single speed? My fan is sitting here patiently waiting for me to do something with it. When you start be sure to post your instal with pics. I am going to wait until I pull the engine for mods to really do a first class job on the wiring upgrades I have planned. Good luck!

I was talking with the fan supplier on the phone for an hour about the Mark VIII fans and controllers--he has an actual store and shop where they install them. It seems the 98-99 Mark VIII fan--the RF64--is the big boy; its whats used on CrownVic police intercepters. That should be good enough for C3's!

He wasn't aware of how nicely the Mark VIII fans fit in C3's, so he's looking into becoming a forum advertiser. I look forward to welcoming him here--as he spoke of a great group discount as way of introduction...

I still plan on going with the DC Controllers control unit, so I'll order that now directly.

.
thats what I had used on my 2000 F- 150 when I switched it to an electric fan. it keeps up with my 5.4 litre full size truck pulling a 8500 pound boat with no problems. this fan really moves some air. also readilly available used. most police cars have a short life span . there are quite a few in salvage yards. easier than finding Mark VIII's
