Default Leaky New (Rebuilt) Control Valve

Hey I just bought a rebuilt control valve from VBP and after bleeding the air and running it for a bit it is wet around the lower bolt that connects the two parts of the housings together. Anyone else had this issue? Can I give it a little time to go away or should I pull it and send it back?

I rebuilt mine twice and it was leaking horribly, so I decided to purchase a rebuilt one, so needless to say I am not too psyched to pull the CV yet again.

Thanks for any help or advice.

I went through the same thing. I installed a couple of rebuilt valves which didn't last very long before leaking. I finally went with a new valve and its been on the car for at least 5 years, probably more, without any problems. I would go with a new valve.

Words of wisdom.

Thanks for the info. Probably a pretty good idea.

Same here... one leaky rebuilt.....that was enough...GM replacement going on four years now...

And this suggests a "shelf life" problem...IMO..cause same thing happens with rebuilt P/S pumps...or lousy quality..

Any ideas for the best place to purchase one?
