Does anybody out there know of a BBC serpentine setup that will "bolt-on" and fit under an L-88 hood. 69 Stingray will air. I've been checking the forums and have found a few for SBC but none for BBC.
ja1724, I just logged on to search for the same thing except for a 74 BBC. I'm particularly interested in finding something in the "parts garden". The aftermarket stuff (March, Billet Spec., Zoops, etc.) is nice, but way pricey!
Give www.conceptonepulleys.com a shot. Just finished my 454 stroker last spring. I have a/c but no power steering. I used their new a/c compressor, water pump, and alternator and am pleased with the set up. I dropped the crankshaft fan to make more room in front of the block. Be cautious of fender and hood clearances; I found some guys had to "notch" the fender wells to make some of their serpentine set ups work. The pulley systems from concept one were considerably less expensive yet offered a similar clean look as a serpentine set up. Give them a call for more info.
thanks for the info gavanm01; objective testimonials are priceless. [link bookmarked-thanks]
think i'm going to give the v-belts one more try just to git-er-up and runnin'. new v-pulleys to arrive later this week. changing to two groove crank, water pump and PS pump pulleys. changing belts to drive ALT from PS which moves the ALT out to 3rd groove. was hoping to drive ALT off of crank like small block but appears it just won't work that way. also don't want to have to lose the brand new stuart water pump yet.
i'm not crazy about the factory ALT brackets anyway, but if this works, i'll have to make something for the probably aftermarket A/C compressor. so may be looking at the serpentine again when i get to the ac. good to know about the fender issues. was planning on making hood clearance measurements when it is all back together this time, will add fender dims to the list.
i have been working on a scale drawing of the engine and brackets, etc., but it's been difficult so far to find "official" dimensions that i can either read or that "close out". anybody out there who has some of this info, i'd be happy to share any info i have in exchange. thanks for reading
