Vette 82 diagnostics
Hello everybody,
from time to time I experience a slight problem that "check engine" is enlighted. It´s allways hard to identify the problem that has most of the time something to do with car´s computer, cables, oxygen sensor and other stuff of course. I wonder if I can find somewhat a scanning (diagnostic) software for my Corvette 82, so I´ll be able to identify the problem on my own and fix it. There is only one guy who has it here and it is allways hard to get him and hard to pay him.
If anybody knows what´s the price of that thing, or how to find it, or even if it´s useless to have it. Let me know pls.

Have you checked the codes yourself or ...dont understand how far you have come ?
Nevertheless you can check with the paperclippmethod ! Straighten a paperclipp and connect first and second terminal under the ashtray ! The checkengine-lamp gives you answer with flashes in code. Other guys here know of the method, I´m sure, and might have the codelist easy to publish here. Haynes Manual discribes the method as well and also have all the codes listed.

if you have a autozone closeby they will trip the code for you . but if you are going to own a car this old its going to need TLC from time to time .you need to by a book for the 82 and to go to the cross-fire forum .
