not sure on the clearance mine is not reinstalled yet. I had the same problem. my lower mounting bracket was bent
well the breaket looks stright I think that the alt or the pully is not right.
I just installed a alum rad had every thing off and most were off befor and orig parts were not reinstalled.... the car set for about 10 years and thats not good. I have everthing(almost) on this car eather repaired or replaced and now It is starting to look and run good. I had broken studs on the rear wheels that led to a a arm rebuild the car never had the revits drilled out of the wheels and the disks look new so the milage may be right but there is or was a lot of things not working
and the engine has been opened up in the past new intake gaskets shows that and the eng info on the front block is machined off. the person I got it from is dying of cancer I bought it from his grand son
there was a 74 harly sitting next to it with 408 miles and the eng was froze probley from sitting well enough about my car what are you doing to your car.
Mine is actually flush up against it.....we had the same trouble hooking it up...That was actually the toughest part of the whole rebuild believe it or not....
