Default Power Window Motor Gear?

The L side window doesn't go up all of the way although the motor tries. My question is, is it typical that over time the polypropeline gear wears out or is it a stripped regulator? I would think that if it were the motor gear it would have a stripped effect regardless of position of the regulator. Ecklers has the motor gear as well as a regulator repair kit.

Any thoughts or experiences with this would be appreciated.

The gears at the motor are metal, the rollers are plastic. If the motor is working it's probably the regulator or one of the track rollers. I would check all the track and rollers first. The regulator assy. is a pain to remove and put back in.

You are correct that it is probably the regulator gear. The motor gear is metal- expect no problem there. The issue w/ the SS gear repair plate is that you can expect the narrow teeth to cut into the motor gear.
The stronger than stock aftermarket regulator gear is much better. No special tools to remove assembly however remember that spring is stiff so be careful & watch out for your fingers.
Welding is needed to remove & install gear.
