Ls1 swap?
Has anyone swapped in a Ls1/460le tranny combo into a C3? I'm playing with this idea. I can get an engine/tranny.pcm and most of the other engine stuff as used for under $3k. If not an LS1 how about an LT1 combo? I'm sick of 10-12 mpg

I just finished putting an ls1 w/4l60e in my 73 convertible. You say you can get an ls1 for $3000 that shoulds like a pretty good deal depending on mileage and year of vehicle the motor came out of. The swap will go alot smoother if you plan out the swap. I bought my harness for speartech out anderson Indiana. The swap went smooth if you have any questions feel free to contact me on here.

L98 and 700R4 good combo
I swapped in a 1990 L98 TPI with the 700R4 into my 1976 Corvette. 700R4.com took care of the cross member issues. This was an easy engine swap, I purchased the wiring harness from Street & Performance out of Mena, Arkansas. Since I reprogram the chips myself the set up was really simple. However if you can locate the factory ECM and you stay stock then you will be in great shape. Since the 700R4 is a couple of inches longer than theTH350 I had to shorten the drive shaft. I let the ECM control the converter lockup. Now long hauls with our local club are lot more enjoyable without having to map gas stations along the way. Oh BTW, 26 MPG on the highway and about 19 in town.
