Default spark plugs

Hi I have a 77 corvette 350 motor. Just changed the spark plugs, auto light .035 gap is this right? Because the ones I took out were very old and .050 gapped. when you step on the gas its almost like the car wants to die. what is the right gap?
Thanks for your help! Justus

Both the 77 L48 and L82 are at .045. If you are running and aftermarket ignition you can spread them a little more. A possible reason it seemed like the car was dying on you could be that the old spark plugs that you were using were not igniting all of the air/fuel mix in the cylinder.

Thanks for your help. L 48 motor. I am running mds ignition. so do you think .045 or .050 for a gap? It just wants to die when you step on the gas, the gap is the only thing I can think of it would be.
