Default Starter Solenoid problem

I was hooking my starter back up yesterday and while i was tightening the fat nut on the solenoid i cracked the housing of the selinoid....Went to Advanced auto to get another ....Guy showed me on the screen it was the one for a 79' vette got it- bought it home but my old one has 2 posts on it the large main that had the large wire from the batt and smaller set with fusible links on it....and a smaller s post with a smaller second a black wire....The new one has 3 posts the main, a smaller with an s and one with a r....hooked it up like it was and no go .....should i put the wire with the fusible links on the R post or is this not the solenoid i should be using?

The R post is not used
The S post should have a purple wire on it.
The Large post should have the batt. cable and the fusible links
If you have a black wire with a large terminal-it is the ground lead for the blower motor and should go on a starter mounting bolt or a bellhousing bolt
Make sure you dont have a bad fusible link-it feeds the purple wire that engages the solenoid
Put a test light on S terminal and turn key to start-if light goes on and starter does not engage solenoid is bad
