I've been a reader of corvetteforum for a while, but this is my first thread. I'd like to say thanks in advance for the collective knowledge of this forum and your love for Corvettes.
I have a 1977 Vette that I just play with. It's no show car and will never be. It's just a little hot rod. Unfortunatly, it's an automatic. I've accumulated most of the parts to convert it to a four speed. I know people are big on 5 and 6 speed conversions, for good reason, but I have no desire for that. This car is just a play toy and not an everyday driver. My question is will a saginaw 4-speed work in my 77. I happen to have one laying around. It's also the saginaw with the low 1st gear, which makes it even more fun and economical with my 3:08 rear end. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
I didn't realize Corvette used Saginaw, but that does explain why the shifters are different for 1977-1981 in parts books. I assumed they were still Super T-10. Thanks for the help.
