Anyone have these rims (Crager SS) on their shark? Thinking about them. They make a 15x8 model. Will I need a spacer to clear the caliper?? Any info would help. Thanks in advance. L8TER, Paul.
Ed T, I'd like to see the pic to. If you want you can email the pic to me and I'll post it if you want me to, or won't post it if you don't want me to (that sound's confusing, I hope it isn't  )
Does anyone know of other 15x8 wheels that will fit on a C3. I seem to recall an article in Hot Rod magazine many years ago that listed what wheels were interchangeable for different models. I didn't have a Corvette then and I don't even recall if Corvette was on the list. But, I've wondered if later model Camaro (or other model) wheels would fit my car.
I had aluminum slotted factory wheels on mine when I bought it but wanted something a little flashier.
I tried Cragar SS wheels too but they wouldn't clear the calipers without a spacer and I don't care for the spacers too much. I always liked the American Racing 200s wheel and it was a "period" correct wheel, so to speak, and they didn't need a spacer for clearance. I don't plan on altering the "look" of this particular car but I like the way these wheels look on it.
If there's one thing I enjoy about working on computers 8 hours a day, it's that I might actually learn something useful for "playing" on the forum :yesnod:
I love those damn wheels. They're cool, because they're in keeping with the period of these cars. I like them more than the newer styles. Great choice. :yesnod:
Those AR 200 were alternates also. I contacted Cragar Co. itself. This is the kit needed to mount S/S wheels on a shark. Spacer kit #29200. Two kits are needed. Each kit comes with: 2-spacers, 10 lug nuts, 10 washers. The rims can be ordered from Pep Boys, Jegs, Summit, S&K Speed, ect. L8TER, PAul.
I also have always liked the look of the Crager SS rims, but I wasn willing to ride around with spacers so I chose Torque Thrust ll's they look very similar to the Crager SS rims and they fit.
I have Crager SS with spinners , 15 X 6" on my 66....unfortunately you need 1/2" spacer.....to clear roters, the spacers are available from Crager , I have always lliked the retro look...........
