1/2 shaft end play?

1/2 shaft end play?
Can someone tell me what the end play should be at the yoke. I removed the t/a, spindle etc. and noticed the 1/2 shaft with considerable play at the diff. The u joint looks ok.. wondering if yoke is bad?? previous owner had yoke replaced, maybe not done correctly. Any insight appreciated

I replace them if they have more then .040 and I have the diff apart. If you are not going to open it for anything then you might get by with .040-.080 but that starts to get sloppy then. The snap ring groove is .187 from the end. The original yoke were case hardened to around .030-.035" so once you wear down past that they pretty soft.
