Default Sep Kit Score

Hey! Just got a complete serp kit from an 88-89 suburban, brackets, PS pump, Compressor, alt and all the bolts, $75
This will be fun. The alt is to small I figure, but I can use the pully, also the PS pully will go on my existing pump and the R4 compressor looks almost new so I'll go ahead and do the R134 conversion.
Anyone use one of these setups off a suburbon or the like?

That is a great deal! I think you have to get a reverse flow water pump to make it work, but I'm sure someone who has done it will chime in later. I am going to do the same thing when I find a doner!

Yea, I figured I would need the rev water pump, didn't take the one that was there because it was old, no telling how old. I wonder will I have to get the Long style or short with this thing, won't know til I start fitting it all back together

I'm building a motor with a similar setup to what you just scored. I have a 1973 SBC 400 block bored + .020. I found a complete serp system from a 1992 Z28. I bought delete pullies for the AC and smog. I purchased a long reverse water pump because the short won't work with the kit. It's a standard flow, and the belt won't lineup. I couldn't find a short/reverse pump. A long will work so long as you either shorten the fan shaft or remove it and install cooling fans. I got my kit, which included EVERYTHING from a SPARE alt, new alt, belts, hoses, brackets, pumps...everything.

Durango boy,
Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for your serp. kit?

Not at all...$150 + $65 for shipping.

They even sent me the bolts. I mean everything that came off the front of that Z28 motor came in the boxes. I got the smog pump hoes, AC compressor and it's hoses. I was amazed at how much shit was in those three boxes.

I believe I can find a donor locally to make this happen. You guys did really good finding your serp conversions! Are you sure there is not a high flow reverse flow water pump for this?

Edelbrock makes a long reverse flow SB and BB pump. I can't imagine how the truck setup will clear a stock C3 hood.

Bernie, you should not need the hi flow pump with all the mods you have done. I am going with standard flow rev pump, ...Maybe even Chrome!

My girl has trouble fitting in her DD cups, but she pulls it off.

I'm going to build the motor, install it, and see what clearance issues I have. My serp came from a Z28 Camaro but I should still have clearance issues. I may go with a custom glass ram air scoop like on the Pontiac WS6.

I would have but I thought there were rules against that on this forum. Doesn't seem as liberal as a few other forums I visit. I feel bad cussing on here sometimes.
