i just recieved my headers...
Won them off of ebay. THey are sidepipe headers from hedman. they are not the type that come oout from under the car, but more like come off as a reg header, but the collector is angled towards the side. They are really in pretty decent shape. I paid 81.00
so how did i do?? they actually look better then the pic...pic makes em look worse

I researched those for an sbc C3 ... I think painted ones were about $90/pr at summit. They're intended for use with GM OE sidepipes.
I think b71vette used those (maybe coated) with his setup ... IIRC he & his son fabbed up some VERY nice tubes etc to fit under OE alum covers.

What do new headers cost? I looked at HPCoatings-- is it worth spending maybe $150 to coat $80 used headers? I ask because I have Hooker headers on my SB and just assumed I'd have to get new headers some day when these rusted out-- I didn't realize companies will recoat them for you.

That's the same header's I have on my 71. I bought mine new, installed/tweaked to fit, and sent off to Jet-Hot for Sterling Ceramic coating. A couple of the cylinders ran hot and dulled the finish. If I were to have them recoated I woudl go with Jet Hot 2000 degree coating, not shiny but durable. Here's a few pics:
