Headers: Pros: Power increase (depends on your engine)
Looks good when ceramic coated Cons: Plugs a little harder to get at
They cost money
Under hood temps higher
Reduced ground clearance
Reduced clearance for starter motor and oil filter (in
some cases)
A little louder under the hood and exhaust
You can keep all your accessories, like a/c, p/s, etc.
There has been a fair amount of discussion here and on other boards suggesting that the rams horn manifolds are actually very efficient. In my book, keeping them solves ALL of the issues of how to mount accesories and such.

Headers are cool, but unless you foot is flat to the floor and you need that extra 20 HP there is no advantage performance wise.
If you want then cause they look cool thats fine too.
I have to honorably disagree....after the headers install and 2 1/2" pipe opening to the DynoMax muffs, there was a more then noticable increase in acceleration....just my 2 cents
I reciently put 10 thousand in the engine bay of my 73 and when it came time to address the exhaust end of things I did a lot of home work. What I ended up with were a pair of 2.5 inch stock rams horns off a 66 327 vette. I ground off the alt bracket on the driver side and sent them both to jet hot. They sent them out and got them extrude honed (ported and polished) and then coated them a flat grey color and flow bench tested them. This was not an inexpensive process, but it was important for me to retain the stock look, and yet get the performance benifits of headers without the headaches and that is just what I achieved.
