Ok this morning i checked my reservoir and it was a little low. I had been noticing my pedal getting a little weak and my brakes have been squeaking. I planned on checking the pads and bleeding the system this weekend. So i filled the low reservoir with my Dot 5 Silicone i had for the 66 for when i get around to doing the brakes on it. I got into work and started checking some posts and saw that it is bad to mix Dot 5 with 3 or 4. Now i believe the guy told me he ran the Dot 5 becasue i remember him saying something about the silicone but i am not 100% positive. Is there anyway i can tell if i just mixed the two? Should i just get a bunch of Dot 5 and flush the system this weekend or what??

I switch over to dot 5 after putting new brake lines, calipers and master cylinder in. I bench blead the master and I think they test them from the factory with dot 3 because there was a little of the dot 3 that floated to the top, they do not mix and it's obviuos, my dot 5 has a blue tint to it, the dot 3 is clear. If you mixed the two I would clean the system out and run with dot 3 .

they are not compatible and you must flush the system.....dot 5 is very expensive and you must use a cleaner in there first if you want to use it. dot 3/4 is a whole lot cheaper
