Question about '80
Is the last place the body actually touches the frame at the body mounts behind the rear
wheels or is there bolts or screws towards the back more. The reason I ask is because I have
measured the distance from the body to frame at the back body mounts and it is the same on
both sides, but when I measure at the back spoiler to the ground one side is an inch lower.
If I look up underneath at the bumper I can see the body is off about an inch, for example the
rear light hole recesses are about an inch above the bumper on one side and are almost touching
the bumper in the other side.
If you look at the back of the car underneath you can clearly see it is tilted or leaning one way as
compared to the bumper and it appears the bumper is level.
Also checked the front body mounts behind the front wheel and they are equal on each side.
I have new springs and shocks on the car and everything seems to be OK but the back of the
body seems to be warped or something I wonder if there is a bolt back there not adjusted properly.
OK, the body is straight, but the bumper isn't, correct? If that's the case I would check the bumper itself, under the bumper cover to see if it's straight. Where the mounts go into the end of the frame it would be pretty easy to have one side higher or lower than the other. Mine was that way when I put it back together, so I had to jack one side up so it was level across. If the car is sitting with the frame level, and the distance from body mount to body is the same on both sides, but the rear is still off this has to be the problem. I think anyway.

Re: Question about '80 (Dalannex)
Dalannex - This is what I want to know and since you actually had the rear apart you might
be able to help. Could this honeycomb part extert force on the rear of the body to pull one side
down or up if it wasn't attached to the bumper correctly?
Is there anything else that touches/connects to the rear body section that could warp it. You see
the body is level at the back motor mounts then the body twists or something and by the the time
you get to the rear spoiler one side is an inch lower.
Or to put it another way I have added about an inch of shims to the one side of the rear spring
now there is a one inch higher gap between that tire and the fender lip than on the other side so
now when you measure the rear spoiler it is level on both sides. If the body was straight then the spoiler
would be 1 inch higher on that side.
You know if I can figure this out mabey this is the problem everyone is having to different degrees and
by shimming the spring it fixes it but no one has actually tried to figure out what is wrong.
