Default New Exhaust (updated pictures)

Stopped by the muffler shop today to check on progress on the new exhaust for the vette today...it is very nearly done with some minor tweaks I've requested I should be able to pick it up tommorrow.

The system is 2 1/2" duals through the crossmember - then they smoothly 'y' into a 3" single with 3" hi-flow cat - then 'Y' from the 3" back to the 2 1/2" out through the Dynomax superturbos.

Forgive the fuzzy picture - I hope my new digital camera arrives tommorrow so i can take many higher quality shots than these fuzzy pieces of carp.

edit: new camera arrived.. some new shots taken after the cruise

All new hangers and all the flanges on the whole system are 3/8" thick laser cut pieces. I dont have any decent shots of the y-pipes this guy fabricates - I'll do those tommorrow but they look terrific.

Edit: Well the car wasnt up on the rack when i went to pick it up so i couldnt get really6 good shots of the y-pipes...this is the rear Y located just bast the carsound Cat.

3" carsound cat - connected to the 3" rear y-pipe...3/8" flanges

kinda fuzzy - this is the front y-pipe

The car sounds great.

Is the chassis rusty, or is it just the photo ?

there is some surface rust there but no rust through - the frame is plenty strong AFAICT - in fact i can jack the car from that point with no problems - the rest of the frame has been checked out so while yes it looks nasty - I'm not worried about it

got some updated pictures with a better camera so bumped...

The shop that did this work was Lyons brake and muffler in San Marcos - (north of san diego)

Jim the proprietor, is an enthusiast, his shop had a Cobra in it during the time I was there and the walls of his office are littered with photos of hot rods and race cars all signed by happy customers.

He was also able to resolve a pulling brake issue that had eluded me.

Also if anyone has a nice Nova.. and you take it there, he is likely to make an offer on it...seems he has been looking for one for awhile.

Awesome system how much did it set you back, and if you would reccomend them, whats the adress on the shop as i have been wanting a new exhaust but have been afraid of asking a shop to change the catalytic converter

Lyon's Muffler & Brake
1560 Grand Ave
San Marcos, CA 92078
(760) 744-8010

I would indeed recommend him. The system set me back just a hair over $1000.. this included everything from header collector back -

1- 3" carsound catalytic convertor w/ 3/8" laser cut flanges
2- dynomax super turbo mufflers
2- wicked polished stainless steel exhaust tips

a friend also had his Big block Nova done there and has been pleased with the results of that job as well.

He carries dynomax, flowtech and flowmaster mufflers in stock - sells flowmax and doug thorley headers as well. (judging by boxes in the office and whats hanging on the wall)

he repaired my rear tranney mount for no charge - seems a bolt had fallen out and he thought my shims to get the TKO output angle were too bubba - so he machined me a solid spacer.
