Default Electrical gurus i need some advice please.

I am wiring up my center console Autometer guages and was wandering if I can use a single 12v switched power source as well as a single common ground and daisy chain them all together? Right now I have built a positive wiring harnes with 18g wire and 5 individual connectins. I used the hot wire from the stock gas guage as the feeder. I have the same setup for the grounds going to a good chasis ground. I also used one of the stock grey console light wires and daisy chained the 5 bulbs together as well as daisy chaining a common light ground. Am I ok with this or would it be prefered to have a power supply for each guage and each light?

Thanks
Wade

That should work fine as long as by "daisy chaining" you mean putting them in parallel.

I just finished this same project. I tied all the bulb wires (gray) together into 2 seperate units and then used a male/female connecter in case it has to come out again. I did like-wise with the ground. The plug in connecters make things simple. Be sure to check the wire from the fuse block out under the hood. Mine were in very bad shape. Bubba-raped in many places and dry rotted/cracked in others. No sense doing all this work and risk a fire. I ordered a new under-hood kit for $184 from Ecklers. Seems high.
