Wiper Door Fixed, Now No Lights
I recently took my 72 to have the wiper door repaired. The mechanic put in a new switch and now the wipers work fine. The next night I got in to drive and had no dash lights. I got out to check and had no running lights and no tails either. Headlights and brake lights work fine. Turn signals are ok, too. I checked for a blown fuse, but didn't see one. Anyone with any ideas? My mechanic is about 40 miles away, so I would like to avoid going back to him if the fix is simple.

I can't really help on this other than to say that if it's not a fuse, it sounds like maybe they all share a common ground and your mechanic may have accidentally disconnected it.
Maybe someone with a '72 wiring schematic can tell you where that ground is.
