Default LS1 C3 Installs, Post your pics...

Looking for some pics and info on your C3 LS1 installs.

I bought a complete 6.0L with a 4L80E Transmission from a 2006 GMC HD

I do have the adapter plates that allow me to use my stock Gen I motor mounts. Any motor plates available for the LS1? Please let me know any problems that were encountered or recommendations you may have. Thanks

Cam it. Most of us made the mistake of not camming it while it was out. Look at My Corvette Photos for pics.

Its getting a XER281HR-12 232/234 112LSA .595/.598 installed before going in as well as new forged pistons and rods. The motor will also be force fed by a big shaft Garrett TV series T6 turbo. See my earlier post...

Budman, I do have questions about two of your pics. That is a Camaro LS1 right? Did you have any clearance problems with the oil pan around the steering or the low mount alternator by the motor mounts or the engine cross member?

Thanks Pat, that's good news... I don't need the power steering and I was hoping to mount both the Alt and AC down low on each side of the motor.

Man, there's a lot of nice installs in progress here, keep the pics coming.

2001 F-Body Motor out of a T/A
No problem on the Alt.
I had to lower the ram bracket an inch on the steering to clear the pan. I converted over to rack after a year.

You will also have some issues with the heater outlets. Just have them plugged at the machine shop. Who needs a stink'in heater.

Since im using the 5.3 truck oil pan i had to modify the pan for ground clearance and do what buddy did to the steering bracket, but also had lengthen my idler arm too.As far as the a/c compressor fitting down low,i dont think itll fit,you might have to notch crossmember maybe.Im startring a new frame project for mine for this winter and im gone to try and add the a/c down low also and do what it takes to the frame if i can.

Buddy do you have air in yours?

I guess I'm not going to be the fastest as soon as this turbo monster and the supercharged LS1 vettes hit the streets.

A/C want work on the bottom, you would have a better chance of running it off the driveshaft. Maybe you can find a mini compressor.

Here's what it looks like now. By the end of the weekend it should have the LS6 heads, new cam, magnuson supercharger, Z06 clutch in, and sidepipes on.......I hope.

Budman, I think we are talking in circles... The trucks have a mini compressor on the lower right. Do you think this will clear?

SuprJames, what kind of boost are you looking to run?

Looking closer at the pic... Is that a fuel cell back there? Did you make that? Do you have any other pics that you can post, I didn't see any listed in your profile.

Not even close. The arm mounts right at the heater outlets.

Sorry I haven't followed the other threads. I travel a lot.

Pat - No air yet, paint is next. I drove tonight and it was about 98 degrees. To damn hot.

I believe he had my wife convinced at the cruise in. I was telling her I wanted the LS and she asked "Whats wrong with the motor thats in there now!!??" I believe I could get the LS before the 572 and have some money for gas left over.
