Default help with speedo cable removal

I'm going behind the speedo to get to the cable. I find a clip that holds it on. I tried pulling it down, slipping it up and i can't get the cable clip off or the cable itself. Please help its an 81!!

If it is like the older ones, you push it in (toward the cluster) and while holding it pull out on the cable. Sometimes you can push it in, it will “click” and stay, then you can pull on the cable. Tight access.

If you have cruise control disconnect the cable to the speedometer at
the cruise control transducer. This will enable pulling out the instrument
cluster bezel as the cable will come with the bezel. After you pull the
bezel out a few inches you can slip your hand behind it and push in on
the locking tab which holds the speedometer cable against the speedometer.
