Gutsy move, but eventually you'll be glad! 
Maybe it comes from my soft hearted, animal lovin' wife, but I really feel sorry for old Vettes that have been patched up and sent on. It's good to see this one found a good home where it will be fixed right.
Plus look at all you will have learned when you're done.
And somebody please get that dang dog out of that tree!
