Can installing a front coil spring upside down cause the ride height to be 1/2 inch higher on that side? These are new springs installed about 500 miles ago. I did not measure the heights before replacing the stock springs.
The car sits 1/2" higher on the passenger side front measured from both the frame to the floor and the fender lip to the floor. The pasenger side floor to lip is 28". The driver side is 27 1/2".
The ride height is 27 1/4 from the fender lip on both rear sides. The rear frame measurements to the floor are identical.
Both springs are sitting about 1/2" back in the top mount groove.
Probably wouldnt make any difference, but if they are not installed correctly in the upper tower, it will do just that. You need to look closely at the top of the spring and make sure it is actually up into the socket at the top of the tower. If not is will be stiff and sit high.
Took it out and flipped it. Sitting a little more than 5/16" away from the stop. After a short ride, height dropped to just above 27 5/8". Figure I will get the rest after a couple hundred miles.
