Rather then run shorty plugs why not use a extender? They clip on the end of the plug, made entirely of ceramic and can lay right against the header and then you connect the plug wire to this extender?
They run roughly $30 each but solve all plug wire problems.
This was my problem. I had 3 plug wires too close to the heads. I tried Jacob’s ceramic boots for years and thought I had the solution but the wires still came too close to the heads. I then had the local speed shop call me and tell me about a magazine article they saw and I contacted I believe Steve from this company and got 3 of the extenders.
They really worked and after 4 or 5 months of testing I really like how they work. No more worries about burnt boots, shorts or misfired cylinders.
I really recommend them for any close headers to plug boot problems.
This is one of the problem plugs
The extender installed on the plug. It can lay right against the header and the end is totally adjustable as to angle
This is the normal plug attached to the extender well out of harms way.
Again I tried Jacob ceramic boots for years, recommended them also but after trying these ceramic extenders I would not go back
