So I drive up to my local hobby shop looking for my next car model. (Still trying to find an 80.) I park and some guy in a rusted out 1986 Dodge Caravan parks next to me. He gets out and looks over. Says "That car's older than you are!" (I'm 20 but look about 16) I look at him and say "Only by a few months."
And then...the words that bug me most but I try to get used to.
"So'd you're daddy buy you that car?"
"Nope...payed for it lock, stock, and barrel."
"Well a kid like you shouldn't be driving a car like that."
As I look at his rusted out Caravan I say "Well it looks like you're driving exactly what you should be driving."
He went walking off in a huff. I know it was mean...but if you're willing to dish it out then you'd better be willing to take it. :D

What scale are you looking for? You're best bet would probably be to find an 82 CE and then disassemble it and paint it to look like your 80. That's what I'm doing to make a 78 look like my 79. The only problems for you will be the emblems. Haven't looked at the website in awhile but check http://www.corvettemodels.com
Re: Some people can be real jerks! (1970 Stingray)
I don't know if I agree with that come back? Obviously, the guy thought you was 16 and looked at a car that was a little older than you, so he thought for a quick second? He then, quickly put 2 and 2 together, and felt that a 16 year old could not appreciate a car with such class, as he obviously knew what class was. Now, he thinks Corvette owners are arrogant snobs. Never-the-less, it's true, that anyone who pays the freight, knows what he has, and appreciate's it!
