Default Wireing under the dash

Just changed the radio, speakers, amp, console, bezel. The system sounds great. But, now the car won't start, the power windows don't work ether. Everything else works fine. I grabbed the wires to the kill switch She will turn over sometimes and sometimes not. that tells me I have a short. But holy crap batman. It's a mess up under that dash. I chased more wires that go nowhere. Plus tonight I will see all the colors of the wires in my dreams. There was a time in my life when I looked forward to seeing those colors. Not now. Anyway, tomorrow I'll check under the hood. I did relocate a switch. Maybe it's around the MSD, HEI. If you had something like this happen to you. Please reply.

If you trace back from the starter terminal you will find your keyswitch, your clutch/neutral switch, maybe a connector or two and maybe a terminal block. Do a visual of this path for broken wires, etc.

You mentioned a kill switch - if you have a killswitch in series with this path it could be your problem. The starter solenoid needs a good solid 15 amps to pull in, more when hot. A kill switch (and/or aftermarket starter kill relay from an alarm system) adds electrical resistance in this path. Bypass the switch for a while and see if your problems stop. If this switch is your problem you will probably notice that its worse when its hot. Good Luck.
