Default E-Brake and TA ??

OK, can I get the E-brake parts off the TA's without disassembling the whole damn thing? I have them off and rotors off and want to clean them up a bit then check the play in the bearings without loosing my setup.
Next, after disassembly and cleanup and paint I need to reassemble, can I do this without loosing setup?

TIA

it's not the easiest job, but you can remove and reinstall the parking brake with the spindle in place. The only thing that you can't take out is one of the locating pins for the brake shoes, it is captured by the trailing arm or the brake caliper bracket. Supposedly you can remove the nuts and back out the big bolt enough to slide the brake shield forward and replace that pin, but if yours is already there I wouldn't mess with it.

Hi There! There was an article referenced on the forum dealing with this....http://rowleycorvette.com/corvette_repair.html I believe that was it.

I'm pretty sure Corvette FAQ has a write-up of this job. It's not fun while the T/As are together. If you've never done a rear bearing replacement, it might not be a bad idea to just bite the bullet and change out the bearings while you're at it. They're going to have to be changed sometime.

Well, thats what I was thinking when I started this, but can't feel any play in them or and rumbling in the bearings, havn't put a gauge on them yet, might get that done tonight, so I wanted to strip off all the e-brake stuff first. Guess I'll go ahead and do the measurement with it together and then strip them down, I am asuming I can reassemble them after blast and paint useing the same bearings and spacers with new seals?

Bearings are cheap...if you take it all apart, just replace them. If they seem to be OK, there are ways to get the P/B job done, but they don't look fun to me.
