I ordered a GM fan clutch part # 3916141 for my 1970 small block. In the GM parts catalog part # 3916141 is used on the 60-67 (exc 427) stamped CK; 66-67 427 stamped CT & 68-70 no stamp.
Is the difference in the BB & SB the temperature in which the fan engages, thus the different stampings on the same part #. What is the temperature setting in the BB & SB for this fan clutch?

I tried getting that info for a 78 clutch fan from a local GM dealer....tough nut to crack as only source is dealer calling GM tech...and customers can't access that...but you might get a GM parts guy to call for you...I gave up...

Borg Warner is now manufacturing the Eaton fan clutches. I called BW and they could not cross-reference the current GM part # 3916141 for me. They may be able to cross-reference the fan you are using and give you the specs.

Interesting..I'll give them a try..thanks..when I was after a clutch at GM dealer last Friday, their parts guy was getting confused over new part numbers GM is giving current clutches...the numbers all start with *8xxxxxx...and apparently cross referencing is difficult...
