Well I took out the engine and took off a rod and found the bearing had broken and a part of it is welded to the crank and the crank has a good gouge out of it.
So I was looking at a new forged crank 500-600$. With the rebuild and everything else I can just about buy a new short block.
If anyone has a suggestion on a short block to buy or ideas of a next step that won't break me.?

Take it to the machine shop, any good one should be able to fix it up. By the way how do the hookers fit ( what size) . Good luck on the rebuild. :seeya

The Hookers fit fine. They are Comps not Super Comps so bolting them up is easy and the fit is perfect.
The only flaw is the collector flanges are not flat side down. They are just turned enough to catch speed bumps on rare occasions.
