Default oil cooler location???????????????????

the air flow is up front but won't the hot air coming off the oil cooler hurt the cooling capacity of the ac condenser? i've given up on my idea of mounting a fan cooled oil cooler back where the spare used to be. too much hose too close to spinning universals etc. i did manage to get the tranny cooler between the radiator and the ac condenser. where do i put the oil cooler.?

the oil cooler up front will not hurt the cooling capacity of the ac or radiator, mount it up front spaced off the condensor a bit. Bankokdean has his mounted over the opening in the lower bumper cover

why not just mount it aft of the steering on one of the frame rails? if it has a fan, you'll be fine. even without a fan, such a location will have a noticable cooling effect.

My power steering oil cooler is mounted out near the the behind the front wheel fender vents.

I'm not sure of how much air actually flows out of these vents.

nemesis, no room for the thing near the frame rails. well actually there is but the fan would not draw very well. gkull, i already bought a little cooler to do what you did by the gill slits for the hydroboost and steeroids power circuit. while ive got you, where in the line do you put the cooler? on the pressure side or the return to the reservoir?

You cool the return (low Pressure) side. I just got a better grade 3/8th rubber hose and plumbed in a cooler. Now my pumps have lasted for years. Between high rpm, wide 17 front wheels, and agressive driving I was always having to have my pumps rebuilt. The pump would get so hot that the seals would melt and just start leaking.
