Re: How good is a right hand mirror functionally? (jerryp58)
I put one on my first Corvette and to me it made a big improvement for visibility. I purchased one for my second Vette the day I bought the car, but haven't installed over a year later. I just don't want to drill holes in a 27 year old Vette. This also the reason I haven't put a luggage rack/t-top carrier on.

I agree that dual mirrors are a "must." Highly recommended to complement these are those little 1.5" convex stick-on mirrors. I stick mine on the lower outside corner and they allow you to see any blind spots w/o any problem at all, even if someone accidentally "adjusts" your mirrors' position. In tight traffic situations a quick glance tells you if someone is anywhere close to you if you want to make a quick lane-change.
My eyes seem to be very sensitive to bright lights at night and when there's a lot of traffic, the headlights behind me can be very bothersome. On our newer cars I will often adjust the normal mirrors very low and just use the convex stick-ons to see what's behind me, as they still work fine and don't reflect lights directly into my eyes.

I am w/ Daniel. I got a '77 w/ the sport mirrors and I can't see didalee (sp. ???) out of them. On the other hand, after reading this post, I am thinking about getting a couple of those stick-on mirrors.
One thing I do like about the mirrors is they are great for looking at those curves and remembering why the C3 has the best lines...

I like the righthand mirror. It comes in handy. I have only the left mirror on my '68, and have both on my '80. I often find myself trying to "use" the righthand mirror on my '68.
